PH2/1 Portable Lamp
The PH 2/1 Portable Lamp is rooted in Poul Henningsen’s pioneering approach to lighting, developed in 1925–1926 through his iconic three-shade system. Guided by a scientific method based on the logarithmic spiral, Henningsen sought to create glare-free light, direct illumination where it is most needed, and produce soft, balanced shadows.
Part of a design family that has evolved into hundreds of variations—from table and floor lamps to pendants, chandeliers, and wall lights—the PH 2/1 remains a timeless expression of functional elegance.
This portable version reinterprets the classic petite table lamp as a cordless design, offering greater flexibility in placement. It features mouth-blown opal glass shades paired with a stem and base in either high-lustre chrome or metallised brass.
Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, it is particularly suited to spaces where access to mains power is limited—such as bookshelves, bedside tables, or intimate outdoor settings.

The PH 2/1 Portable is designed on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which creates harmonious and glare-free lighting.
