The PH 3–2½ Wall Lamp is designed to provide soft, diffused, and comfortable illumination for outdoor environments. Finished in a refined black powder coating and rated IP44, it is well suited for exterior use while maintaining a timeless aesthetic.
Part of Poul Henningsen’s iconic three-shade system, the design reflects his pioneering approach to lighting—where function and form are seamlessly integrated. Henningsen developed not just a single lamp, but an entire system, resulting in hundreds of variations across table, floor, wall, and chandelier designs.
Guided by a scientific understanding of light, Henningsen applied the principles of the logarithmic spiral to achieve even light distribution across the shades. This, combined with the diffused reflection, ensures effective control of glare while creating soft, balanced shadows.
Blending durability with design heritage, the PH 3–2½ Wall Lamp offers a refined lighting solution for outdoor spaces.
Light concept
The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the light downwards. The shades have a matt white painted interior surface, diffusing the light in a comfortable way.
