AJ Garden Bollard

The AJ lamp series is widely regarded as one of Danish architect Arne Jacobsen’s most iconic design achievements. Originally created in 1957 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (now Radisson Collection), the series formed part of a fully integrated architectural vision, where Jacobsen designed everything down to the finest detail—from furniture to lighting.
Defined by its clean lines and precise geometry, the AJ design language reflects Jacobsen’s architectural approach. The distinctive profile—combining straight lines with oblique and right angles—echoes both his furniture designs, such as the Series 3300, and the sharp, modernist forms of his buildings.
The AJ Garden Bollard extends these principles into an outdoor context. Based on the proportions of the AJ Mini Table Lamp, it retains the series’ refined expression, including the characteristic tilt of the stem seen in the AJ Floor Lamp.
