PH 3/3 Aged Brass Opal Pendant
Poul Henningsen created hundreds of lamps based on his three-shade system, developed in 1926 to deliver exceptional, glare-free lighting for a wide range of uses. Many of his designs include numerical designations that indicate the relative sizes of the shades.
The PH 3/3 is known as a “whole” sized pendant, defined by its balanced and compact proportions. It features a top shade of approximately 30 cm, with the middle and lower shades following the characteristic 3:2:1 ratio. Like other “whole” sized lamps, it is carefully designed to minimise glare, making it ideal for higher placement in a room, where it provides both effective illumination and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The PH 3/3 Aged Brass Opal Pendant brings a refined presence to a variety of interiors—from smaller rooms to spaces with high ceilings—working equally well in hallways, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas.
Light concept
Poul Henningsen designed the PH 3/3 pendant to be placed high up in a space. It emits comfortable, diffused and glare-free light, characteristic of PH's reflective three-shade system. The middle and lower shades are crafted from three-layered, mouth-blown opal white glass, which is glossy on top and sandblasted matte on the inner side, producing a soft and uniform light distribution. The brass top shade has a white-painted inner side, providing a delicate, mainly downward-directed light.
