PH 2/1 Portable Lamp
Poul Henningsen was dedicated to creating glare-free lighting that directed illumination precisely where needed while producing soft shadows, typically using incandescent bulbs. His mathematical approach—based on the logarithmic spiral—led to the development of the three-shade system in 1925–1926. This concept became the foundation for an extensive family of lighting designs, including floor lamps, table lamps, pendants, chandeliers, and wall lamps.
The PH 2/1 Portable is a modern, cordless version of the classic compact table lamp. It features mouth-blown opal glass shades and a stem and base available in high-lustre chrome or metallised brass. Designed for flexibility, the portable lamp works well both indoors and outdoors, making it especially useful in areas without easy access to power, such as bookcases or bedside tables.

The PH 2/1 Portable is designed on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which creates harmonious and glare-free lighting.
