AJ Table Lamp

Arne Jacobsen designed the iconic AJ lamp series for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1957 as part of a fully integrated design concept. The AJ table lamp emits a soft, downward-directed light thanks to its white inner shade, which can also be tilted to adjust illumination.
The AJ lamp family—considered Jacobsen’s most famous design globally—included multiple variations such as table, floor, wall, and mounted lamps, all used throughout the hotel after it opened in 1960. The lamps featured a clean, geometric design in materials like copper and stainless steel, reflecting the same sharp lines and curved angles found in Jacobsen’s architectural work.
 
Light concept
 
The fixture emits downward directed light. The angle of the screen can be adjusted approximately 90 degrees up and down to optimize light distribution. The shade is painted white on the inside to ensure a soft comfortable light.
