PH Snowball

Poul Henningsen began designing lamps in 1925–1926 for an exhibition in Paris and continued his collaboration with Louis Poulsen until his death in 1967. Throughout his career, he focused on creating glare-free lighting that directed illumination where needed while producing soft, comfortable shadows, typically using incandescent bulbs.
In 1958, Henningsen designed the Snowball lamp, which was exhibited alongside the PH 5 at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art. Although it received little attention at the time, the Snowball design was later rediscovered and relaunched for production in 1983.
 
Light concept
 
The fixture emits comfortable glare-free diffused light. Matt painted undersurfaces and glossy top surfaces result in an attractive reflection of the diffused light, creating uniform light distribution around the fixture. When the light is switched on, the top portion is illuminated while the bottom part remains dark.
