PH 4/3 Pendant

670,00 €Precio

Poul Henningsen developed his pioneering three-shade lighting system in 1925–1926 in collaboration with Louis Poulsenfor an exhibition in Paris. He continued working with the company until his death in 1967, consistently focusing on creating glare-free light, directing illumination where it was most needed, and producing soft shadows using incandescent bulbs.

The PH 4/3 Metal Pendant, introduced in 1966, is based on this three-shade system, which follows the principles of the logarithmic spiral, positioning the light source at its center. The design is a simplified evolution of a lamp Henningsen created in 1929, which earned him top honors at an international exhibition in Barcelona.

Over the years, the metal pendant has been produced in various sizes and colors. Its white-painted underside ensures soft, diffuse light, while some versions featured a gold-coated interior to create a warmer glow.

Light concept

The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of metal and painted white to ensure uniform, comfortable light distribution.
