Grelinette / Cultivating fork
The Broadfork, also known as a Grelinette, is designed for digging, aerating and loosening the soil without turning or disturbing its natural layers. This helps preserve soil structure and soil life, while making it easier to control weeds and incorporate compost and fertilisers.
Handmade from high quality stainless steel, the Sneeboer Broadfork features five 25 cm long tines and weighs 7.3 kg. The fork is 50 cm wide and measures 145 cm in length with the handles fitted.
The 120 cm stainless steel handles are detachable for easy transport. The Sneeboer logo is engraved on the two outer tines, combining distinctive design with exceptional functionality.
Description:
The Grelinette, or Woelfork, is a gardening tool used for digging, aerating and working the soil in the garden. Thanks to the position and shape of the tines, you can easily push the fork into the ground by standing on the horizontal bar. When you then move the two handles forwards and backwards, the fork digs itself in. Once the fork has reached the desired depth in the soil, step off the bar and pull the entire fork backwards, holding the handles as high as possible. This creates a long lever arm, making this method very energy-efficient. In this way, you can dig over the whole garden. Compared to traditional methods such as ploughing, a Grelinette minimises disturbance to the soil, helping to keep the garden healthier and more fertile. It is a valuable tool for gardeners committed to sustainable gardening practices.
