Samsas Rund Sofa

Originally designed in 1966, the Samsas Rund Sofa is a distinctive expression of Swedish designer Carl Malmsten’s playful yet refined approach to furniture design. Created later in his career, the sofa reflects his lifelong pursuit of timeless forms, exceptional comfort, and enduring craftsmanship.
Part of the Samsas series, the sofa traces its lineage back to Malmsten’s Konsert Chair, designed for Stockholm Concert Hall in 1923. The Samsas Rund embodies his philosophy of thoughtful refinement and “slow ripening” — a belief that great design evolves with time, care, and experience.
We are proud to relaunch this exceptional design in collaboration with O.H. Sjögren, a fourth-generation, family-owned upholstery workshop in Tranås, Sweden. For more than 70 years, O.H. Sjögren has worked closely with the Malmsten family, preserving the craftsmanship and design heritage behind these iconic pieces.
