PH 3/2 Table Lamp
The PH 3/2 Table Lamp delivers a soft, harmonious and comfortable light through its mouth-blown, three-layer white opal glass, directing illumination primarily downwards. Designed by Poul Henningsen, it is rooted in his celebrated three-shade system, developed in 1925 to create exceptional, glare-free lighting.
The system was first introduced in the iconic ‘Paris Lamp’, created in collaboration with Louis Poulsen for the Paris exhibition of 1925, where it was awarded gold.
Guided by a scientific approach to light, Henningsen drew inspiration from the logarithmic spiral to achieve a balanced distribution of illumination. The combination of carefully shaped shades and diffused reflections through the glass creates a gentle light with reduced glare and shadows.
The PH 3/2 Table Lamp features a top shade of approximately 30 cm, complemented by lower shades from the 2/2 system. A refined expression of Henningsen’s enduring lighting philosophy, designed to bring warmth and timeless elegance to any interior.
Light concept:
The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of mouth-blown opal three-layer glass, which is glossy on top and sandblasted matt on the underside, giving a soft and diffused light distribution.
